It has been nine years
since I stepped down from our City Council, and my desire to serve our
community is stronger than ever, and I believe that I have a unique
opportunity to serve the residents and businesses in The Colony. Having
had the experience of serving on Council for 9 years (and at that time
representing The Colony while serving on the Board of Directors of both the
North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) and the Texas Municipal
League (TML)) and having had the last nine years to view our City, our leadership
and our direction as a regular citizen and taxpayer, I can bring a new - yet
experienced - perspective to the position. Our City leadership
has done a great job expanding our commercial and business tax base, and
providing new opportunities to shop, dine and be entertained in our
City. With the growth that has come,
our business environment has become a self-fulfilling proposition. More and more businesses and restaurants
look to come to The Colony, and with it continue to bring in more business. It is time to spend
our time and resources to focus back to the core of our City, and to service
the thousands of households and taxpayers that are north of SH121. This includes looking into our
infrastructure … our streets, alley, sewer, water, etc. It includes investing in support and
beautification of our existing shopping centers and business that are not in
the SH121 corridor, but that service the residential areas of The Colony. We need to make sure that we CONTINUE to
have the very best in public safety … that our police and fire departments
are well-staffed, well-trained, and well-equipped. And we need to continue with our
improvements to our parks, our trails, and our recreational facilities. Finally, if I do
have the honor to serve our residents again, I promise to be as open, as
transparent, and (most importantly) as accessible as I was for the nine years
that I was in office. I ask for your support and your vote in the 2021
election. Thank you! |
